WELCOME
Heyyyy!!!
They call me Roo. 😃
For those of you who already know me, either I’m really sorry or you’re really lucky. I’ll let you pick.
For the rest of you, allow me to introduce myself.
I’m just a small-town girl, living in a Midwest world, complete with all four
seasons (sometimes all in the same day), surrounded by corn fields, wheat fields, soybean fields, and plenty of Dollar General stores.
I grew up in a medium-sized town about 40 miles north of Kansas City and have lived here all my life except for the one-ish year that I lived in upstate New York.
That’s a story for another time.
I’m right smack dab in the middle of my 40s as a single, working mom of two amazing, grown kids and two amazing dogs. I don’t necessarily have a LOT of free time but, I have more free time than I’ve been used to in the past 20 years, which brings us here: a multi-topic mostly light-hearted, sometimes rambling blog about anything from places I’m visiting to delicious food to TV shows or movies, and whatever else that’s interesting and prompts me to write.
Why? Because I now have time to get out and do shit, go places, and experience things. Most times, one, or any combination of, all three of my kids accompanies me in whatever fun I’m having. (I know I said I have two kids – one is
my son’s serious girlfriend and unless something changes with them, she’s also my kid.) Oftentimes, I have a cousin joining me (or us). And once in a while, when the stars align in a perfect wave of time and space, my bestie is with me. In any case, the time has come for me to dust off my dusty ass and get the F out of the house and explore. Or sit my ass on the sofa, in the comfort of my home and jammies, with a
dog on either side, munching away on whatever delectable junk food I have, binging whatever I want on Netflix, Hulu, or Max. It’s called balance. And yes, sometimes someone is accompanying me in that endeavor, also.
Whatever the topic, I hope to bring a lot of things to this blog and all who might take the time to read it. Helpful information, tips and tricks, insight, encouragement, inspiration, blessings, or any combination of all of the above. And, with any luck, and a little finesse, maybe a chuckle or two!
So, welcome! Relax, grab some coffee (if that’s not your thing, any other [lame] drink is fine), and dive into what will be either really great or really confounding. It’s my hope that whatever state you’re left in, it will have been fun 🙂
Hugs!
